International Trivia Night
SCWA International Trivia Night proceeds benefit SCWA’s Student Study Abroad and Student Outreach Stipends. The SCWA annually awards local undergraduate students scholarships to support their study abroad classes. We believe international experiences increase an individual’s perspective on world affairs and give them a better foundation for future involvement in the global community.
For the many local college and high-school who are not able to undertake a study abroad program, in the 2025-2026 year we started a trial initiative to expand our outreach to students participating in various diplomacy simulation programs, such as Model United Nations, Model Arab League, etc. Students in these programs are are not only becoming extremely knowledgeable about world affairs, but also developing great research, writing, negotiating, and public speaking skills that will serve them well in life, regardless of their future career.
Study-Abroad Scholarship
Undergraduate Students from Georgia Southern University and Savannah State University are eligible for the Savannah Council on World Affairs Student Study Abroad Scholarships. To apply Students must have already been accepted to a study abroad program, meet SCWA academic criteria, and have a verifiable financial need. Academic coordinators screen prospective candidates and provide recommendations to the SCWA Board of Directors.
