SCWA Student Study-Abroad Scholarship
Undergraduate Students from Georgia Southern University and Savannah State University are eligible for the Savannah Council on World Affairs Student Study Abroad Scholarships. To apply Students must have already been accepted to a study abroad program, meet SCWA academic criteria, and have a verifiable financial need. Academic coordinators screen prospective candidates and provide recommendations to the SCWA Board of Directors.
SCWA Student Study Abroad Scholarships enable qualified students to pursue these opportunities for international education by supporting the cost of their travel and living expenses while abroad. Last year, over 60% of qualified student applicants in financial need were turned away. SCWA’s goal is to award a stipend to at least fifteen students per year, and your contribution will assist us in sustaining that high level of support. The greater the donation; the more scholarships and financial support SCWA can offer.
Donors like you are important for advancing the educational mission of Savannah area universities (Savannah State University and Georgia Southern (Armstrong and Statesboro campuses) and reaching area SCCPSS high schools. All offer study abroad programs that allow students to explore languages, cultures, and foreign affairs in-depth across the globe.
We thank you, our membership thanks you & more importantly, our students thank you!
Consistent with our mission, SCWA only solicits and accepts donations from residents of Georgia and South Carolina or from corporations doing business in those states.
